Orthodontic Treatment in New Baltimore & East China, MI

At Brieden Orthodontics, we recognize that every patient is different and has a unique set of needs – which is why we're proud to offer a variety of orthodontic treatments from our New Baltimore & East China, MI office. Dr. Christopher Brieden and his team of orthodontic specialists work hard to personalize treatment for our patients that best suits each their unique lifestyles. We offer several methods for straightening teeth, and while traditional metal braces are still the most popular treatment type we offer, they're far from the only option we provide.

Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most commonly used orthodontic treatment option. Made from high-grade stainless steel, this classic appliance uses a set of metal brackets cemented to the front of the teeth and a long archwire running through the brackets to exert a finely-calibrated pressure on each tooth to gradually move them into a straighter alignment. With the advancements in technology, the braces that you know today are thinner, more comfortable, and more aesthetically appealing than the braces of the past. In addition, metal braces are the most cost-effective treatment option we offer, making it a popular choice among all of our patients.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces, also called clear braces, use the same fundamental mechanics as traditional braces with one key modification - instead of stainless steel, the brackets are made from a clear ceramic composite material that blends in with the natural color of your teeth. Since they're less noticeable than metal braces, ceramic braces offer a great option for patients who want a more aesthetically-pleasing treatment option. These braces are particularly popular with our adult patients, as they won't disrupt important professional photos and presentations.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are made from the same stainless steel material as traditional braces, but they're completely invisible from the outside. Why? Because the brackets are mounted to the inside (tongue side) of the teeth! Similar to ceramic braces, lingual braces are a great alternative to straighten teeth in an inconspicuous way and have become increasingly popular due to their cosmetic appeal. You can smile confidently knowing that you won't have to deal with any metal wires on the front of your teeth.
